Ken Salyer, Jr.

WorldCF Chair
Entrepreneur

Ken Salyer, Jr. is an entrepreneur and investor, and he serves on several boards. Mr. Salyer founded his first business at the beginning of his sophomore year at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. After graduation, he joined Randal Contract, a new commercial wallcovering distributor that was part of the Phelan’s retail wallcovering store in Dallas. After only a single year, he was asked to become partner in both businesses.

In 1993, Mr. Salyer founded TRI-KES. This business began as a small, regional wallcovering distributor with five employees and quickly grew to a super-regional distributor serving seventeen states. In 1999, he was instrumental in the founding of the strategic Wallcovering Source Group (WSG) alliance with two other companies. WSG domestically made up the largest wallcovering sales team in the nation with more than ninety local representatives serving every major city in the United States and exporting its products globally. Mr. Salyer exited these businesses in late 2018 when they were acquired by Momentum Group, on whose board he now serves. He was also a director of the Wallcoverings Association for many years and served as its president.

Mr. Salyer is the son of the WorldCF’s founder, the late Kenneth E. Salyer, M.D.

Mr. Murray joined Johnson & Johnson through its 2012 acquisition of Synthes, Inc., a global leader in orthopedic, spine, and craniomaxillofacial trauma and reconstruction. During seventeen years at Synthes, he served as president of Synthes Spine, president of Synthes Craniomaxillofacial, and was a member of the executive team that led the company to global market leadership through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. He received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University, and his MBA from Dartmouth College.
