Diagnosis: Pfeiffer syndrome
Six year old Nelson has been referred to the WCF by his physician, Sister Dr. Lucy Najjuka. He is the oldest of three children born to peasant farmer parents. Reconstructive surgery for Nelson would not only make his appearance more normal, but it would improve his health. Surgical correction would include expanding his small airway to improve respiratory functioning and repairing his severe under-bite. Nelson’s parents cannot afford treatment for him, and the services Nelson requires are not available in his country.
