When little Isabella was born, the medical professionals who attended her did not know what to think: they had never seen a child who looked like her. Eventually, she was referred to a medical center in a neighboring state where she was given a diagnosis of frontonasal dysplasia and a reconstructive procedure was performed on her forehead. Wanting to ensure the best treatment possible for Isabella’s rare condition, the parents turned to the Internet and located Dr. David Genecov of the International Craniofacial Institute. Isabella will likely need to wait until she is older when more skull bone is available around her eyes and nose for corrective surgical procedures to be performed.
