David - Texas

Good reconstruction of cleft lip, nose, and palate takes more than one or two procedures. Infants born with variants of this condition undergo surgery in the first year of life to repair these defects. However, some patients require more surgeries to help improve their speech, enhance the appearance of the lip and nose, close openings between the mouth and nose, help breathing, and stabilize and realign the jaw.

David, who was born with a unilateral left cleft lip and palate, underwent rhinoplasty at age 15. The WCF covered transportation and lodging expenses for David’s treatment, making it possible for him to travel to Dallas for the procedure. What a charming smile!
