Caitlyn – Oklahoma

It’s hard to believe Caitlyn is 4 years old! Caitlyn’s family first applied to the WCF when she was 16 days old. She was born with a number of anomalies, one of which was a bilateral cleft with a wide open palate. Her diagnosis is Charge syndrome, an extremely complex syndrome involving extensive medical and physical difficulties that differ from child to child. Caitlyn travels periodically with her grandmother to Dallas for medical treatment, including staged cleft repair. She is learning to compensate for hearing and vision deficits, and we are all thrilled to see her learning to walk and to get around. The WCF assists Caitlyn and her grandmother with their hotel stays when they come to Dallas for craniofacial treatment visits.
