“I was always attracted by the complexity of the facial anatomy during medical school but my real passion to craniofacial surgery started in Montreal when I witnessed the amazing effects of making the face more attractive, on the kids born with facial anomalies and on their parents as well. The smile and hope seen on the patients and their family postoperatively made every person involved proud of their achievements.I wanted since to be trained in craniofacial surgery by the top experts in the field. I was extremely lucky when the World Craniofacial Foundation under the direction of Dr Kenneth Salyer, a worldwide pioneer in the field of craniofacial surgery, gave me the golden opportunity to achieve my goals in one of the few ACGME accredited fellowships in the US.I was amazed by the number of kids coming from all over the world for the most complex craniofacial surgeries. I appreciated most the continual striving for excellence in medical care, research, teaching and spreading the advanced state-of-the-art techniques.I will always be grateful to Dr. Kenneth Salyer and the WCF staff, Dr. David Genecov and Dr. Raul Barcelo and the ICI staff, and, most importantly, those who support WCF for giving me the golden opportunity to learn what I really enjoy to do for the rest of my life”.
